It was a response to Japanese mindless Americanization and to the traditionalist rigidity of society. At its roots, this is not a dance that has a uniform form, but a method where the body is no longer an instrument for achieving a purely aesthetic effect, but becomes one with the mind and emotions, thus placing man, if we exaggerate a bit, as a holistic work of art in itself.<\/p>\n<p>Both drama students were introduced to the method at the academy\u00a0by Prof. Tanja Zgonc, an internationally renowned butoh artist. Under her guidance, and above all through their own psycho-physical research, they prepared two solo performances.
