Shadows of hand-crafted three-dimensional sculptures are projected onto the big screen. Although we see the performers on stage and observe how the illusion is created, we cannot resist being immersed in this poetic “film” world. The magical beauty of shadows, as we rarely witness.
The eyes that look at the world are those of a woman. Scenes from her life appear as lyrical fragments, visual poems that disclose and illuminate feelings, memories, and emotions. A reflection on existence: the coming to life, the search for meaning, the departure from this world. To float over the surface, to dive in, to let go.
There isn’t any text in the performance, but an original soundtrack that intertwines with the scenes and becomes a fundamental part of the narrative.
O ustvarjalkah:
Unterwasser is an award-winning experimental theatre group founded in 2014 by Valeria Bianchi, Aurora Buzzetti, and Giulia De Canio. The company positions itself at the intersection of visual theatre and contemporary art, exploring how the two overlap and creating an original, poetic language as a research tool for the human mind/spirit and its many aspects. The focus is on the artistic object, craftsmanship, image, sculpture, and moving matter. They are fascinated by the extraordinary expressive possibility of visual theatre, which takes the audience into poetic, dreamlike, and fantastic worlds where the eye of each spectator can project meanings and evoke memories, emotions, and images.
