The String That Saved the World

The play The String That Saved the World revives the traditional way of telling stories with a string. The story is based on rich Inuit mythology and takes children from the beginning of the world to the present day. Like many others, the Inuit and some other indigenous North American peoples knew the tradition of telling stories, myths, and legends. Their peculiarity, however, is that they accompanied the narrative with t.i. images from strings. With the help of these images or. the figures illustrated certain elements or highlighted important places or adorned the narrative and added a special visual and experiential element to it, as listeners could also follow the story with their own strings of figures.
